Author and Coach, Brandon Jenkins, writes about transitions.

This year, my word is 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨.

For those who know me, that’s not surprising.

I’m transitioning out of the Navy after 22 years.
(26 if you count the Naval Academy)

And transitions come in all shapes and sizes:

  • Changing careers entirely
  • Stepping into greater responsibility
  • Relocating your family to a new community

Here’s one thing I’ve learned about transitions:

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲.

I’ve leaned heavily on my…

  • accountability group
  • coaches
  • friends
  • family

…not just for this transition, but for all the big ones.

They provide:

  • A sounding board when things feel overwhelming
  • Perspective to help me see the unseen
  • Challenge and support

Priceless.

Having the team can make all the difference.
