You’re falling into this trap: the I’ve-always-won trap.
You’ve excelled in every role, so:
- You’re rewarded with more responsibility.
- Those responsibilities keep coming…and coming.
- You reach a point where you can’t do it all yourself.
Instead of asking for help, you’re powering through.
- You think it’s a sign of strength, but it’s not.
- And eventually, you’ll crash and burn.
- Asking for help is a courageous act.
It shows:
- Humility
- Self-awareness
- Situational awareness
Coaching is a powerful form of asking for help.
It can provide:
- Outside perspective
- A challenge to your beliefs
- Support as you transition into your new role
